Much of what you read on my San Diego website is equally true for the rest of this state. Knowing which attorney to choose in this very specialized area of the law is an absolute 'nightmare' of a job if you’re not an insider. I have compiled a short list of counsel I personally know, or know of, to help you choose competent counsel.
ALERT
If I give you the name of an attorney, my recommendation does not extend to other counsel in his or her law firm. I disagree vehemently with what is a currently prevalent practice among some very qualified DUI counsel, of hiring, in my opinion, less experienced and or less qualified counsel in cities up and down the coast. The clients who are referred to the big name DUI attorney are in turn referred to, again in my opinion, less qualified counsel. In my experience and opinion, it does not automatically follow that a very qualified DUI counsel will send you to an equally qualified attorney working in his firm. In fact, my experience and opinion is quite the opposite. If I give you the name of an attorney and you are referred to another attorney by him, you have no idea what financial arrangement they may have between them or how qualified they may be. My best advice to you is do not even inquire; return to this website and for free, I will do my best to send you to one whose qualifications I have personal knowledge of.
